Open day at community centre and café

Coniston Community Centre, Patchway, Bristol.

On Monday 3rd June, Coniston Community Centre and Brooks Café are holding a joint open day to showcase what they have on offer. Many people are surprised to find this modern community building and friendly great value café to be in the heart of Patchway, a short walk from Aztec Business Park and the shops and homes in Patchway.

The centre offers rooms for hire at from just £22 for a half day. The rooms are fresh and light, each with their own kitchenette and choice of table arrangements with smart modern furniture which offers and executive appeal. Projectors, screens and presentation equipment are all available on request. They can also offer clear open spaces and even a sprung floor for more lively activities!

The centre currently plays host to regular classes and activities all open to new members. These include, dance classes, circuit training, watercolourist group, friendship club, tea party, knitting and textile group, food cooperative, toddler group and craft group.

On the ground floor of the building is the popular Brooks Café with great value food and drinks. The café offers FREE wi-fi and a choice of freshly cooked main meals, sandwiches and drinks. Staffed by friendly volunteers, the café is a great place to meet with family, friends, work colleagues or just to take a break.

The open day promises to be a great day with the café offering FREE teas and coffee throughout. There are children’s activities, a chance speak to Southern Brooks Community Partnership about volunteering opportunities and to view the rooms for hire. There will be taster sessions for special interest and social activities that currently run at the centre. Visiting the centre is hugely recommended if you would like to know more about what is happening in the community and the facilities available.
