Big turnout for Remembrance Parade and Service

Patchway Remembrance Parade and Service 2011

There was a big turnout today for Patchway’s annual Remembrance Parade and Service.

Members of the Royal British Legion (RBL) were joined by service personnel, cadets, scouts, local Councillors and the local MP in the march that started from Waterside Drive and proceeded along Bradley Road and Durban Road before arriving at the Patchway RBL Club in Rodway Road.

The Remembrance Service at the war memorial in front of the club was led by Alison Smith and included the traditional Last Post, two minute silence and Reveille.

Wreaths were laid by veterans, local dignitaries and representatives of the armed services and other organisations.

The Service concluded with the Kohima Epitaph and the National Anthem.
