A new state-of-the-art fertility and in vitro fertilisation (IVF) clinic serving the South West is set to open soon on the Aztec West Business Park. The Bristol Centre for Reproductive Medicine (BCRM) will move from its current premises at Southmead Hospital into the new larger premises by January 2022.

New nursery opening soon in Charlton Hayes
A brand-new purpose-built nursery is coming soon to Charlton Hayes, providing a much-needed childcare setting for the local community. Opening in spring 2022, Mama Bear’s Day Nursery and Pre-School will serve families in Charlton Hayes, Patchway and surrounding areas, providing 96 places for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The £57 million Cribbs Patchway MetroBus Extension (CPME) has reached a significant milestone following the completion of improvement work at the San Andreas roundabout next to the Mall at Cribbs Causeway. The overall CPME scheme will provide a rapid bus service between the Mall and Bristol Parkway Station.

A local apiarist has rescued a colony of bees from a massive nest discovered inside a redundant chimney stack above a building on the A38 Gloucester Road in Patchway. The rescue came after the builder who was working on the property had noticed “a few bees” flying around the chimney stack, which was about to be demolished.

A Patchway man has been ordered to pay a total of £2,950 in fines and costs after being prosecuted for waste related offences following the discovery of a fly-tip in nearby Little Stoke. The man went to the Sort It centre in Station Road but it was closed when he got there, so he emptied the waste into a nearby entranceway.

A family forced to flee the civil war in Syria has been resettled in Patchway, thanks to the support of social housing provider LiveWest. Hisham Alsaiyad and his family were thrown a lifeline thanks to the Vulnerable Person Resettlement Programme which is overseen locally by South Gloucestershire Council.
